Animation video of Ameland sea inlet sand dumpings

Dredging  is more than just ‘digging a hole’... It also can be part of a process of answering important questions like how to protect our coastline against a rising sealevel in a more natural way.

This short video shows animations of how measurements and analyses have lead to the specified sand nourishment project at the Ameland outer delta. This pilot project was part of the coastal program ‘Kustgenese 2.0’ in which Rijkswaterstaat investigates how to defend the sandy Dutch coastline against the rising sea level, in a sustainable way.
