EXPERIENCED MODELER

MBO/HBO
32-40 hours

Are you an experienced modeler who can independently translate technical designs into workable 2D and 3D models? And do you enjoy working on complex hydraulic engineering and infrastructure projects that are actually built in the field? If so, we’d love to meet you!

In this role, you will work on a wide range of projects, from tender to completion, such as dike reinforcements, quay structures, nature development, dredging, and other hydraulic engineering projects, primarily in the Netherlands. You will do this in collaboration with the design team. You ensure that designs are not only sound on paper but also feasible in practice.

At Van den Herik, your design doesn’t just disappear into a file or a bid. You’ll work alongside colleagues who are actually building the project on-site. This gives you direct feedback from the construction process and lets you see your design come to life.

You’ll be constantly coordinating with various disciplines to ensure that all components work together seamlessly. Whether you’re working on a single large, integrated project or several smaller projects at once, you’ll maintain a clear overview and deliver high-quality results.

Your team and your workplace
In our design department, you’ll work alongside nine colleagues in an enthusiastic and versatile team of design leaders, hydraulic engineers, data engineers, GIS specialists, and modelers. Together, you’ll tackle exciting projects, supporting one another with knowledge, experience, and a strong sense of team spirit.

Your workplace is just as varied as your work: one day you work at our headquarters in Sliedrecht, the next day at a project location and sometimes simply from home.

What will you do?

  • Analyzing the design problem;
  • Gather and verify information about the current situation;
  • Creating and developing 2D and 3D design models;
  • Translating design calculations into models and drawings;
  • Coordinating designs across different disciplines;
  • Contribute to projects during the tender, design, and implementation phases;
  • Collaborate on integrated designs with various modelers;
  • Identifying design flaws and opportunities for improvement;
  • Maintaining drawing lists and document management;
  • Contribute to the department’s continued development.
