A port’s accessibility depends entirely on a safe and reliable waterway. That is why the Elbląg River in northern Poland is being dredged. This is part of the ongoing development of the waterway connecting the Vistula Lagoon and the Port of Elbląg.

The project is being carried out in several phases. The planned work is part of the second phase of dredging operations within Phase IV of the project. We are carrying out this work in collaboration with Hegemann GmbH, on behalf of the Maritime Office in Gdynia.

A Waterway Ready for the Future
To make the Port of Elbląg more accessible to shipping, we are dredging a section of approximately 7.5 kilometers to a navigable depth of 5 meters. This will improve the port’s accessibility. This will create a future-proof waterway that is ready for the coming decades.

The project is part of the ongoing development of maritime infrastructure in the region and contributes to the safe and efficient management of shipping traffic.

An eye for the environment
During the execution, the surrounding environment is carefully taken into account. We carry out the work in phases so that shipping can continue as much as possible. In addition, ecological and archaeological interests within the project area are considered.
