Sustainability is an integral part of how Van den Herik operates. That is why, since 2016, we have been certified at Level 5 of the CO₂ Performance Ladder, the highest level within this sustainability framework.
Using the CO₂ Performance Ladder, we provide transparency into our emissions, set concrete reduction targets, and continuously work to make our operations, projects, and supply chain partnerships more sustainable. In doing so, our focus is on the efficient use of equipment, reducing fuel consumption, saving energy, and the sustainable use of raw materials.
The CO₂ Performance Ladder is a sustainability tool that encourages organizations to systematically reduce their CO₂ emissions. It helps companies gain insight into their emissions and provides guidance on how to reduce emissions both within their own organization and throughout the supply chain.
Understanding Our Emissions
To reduce ourCO₂ emissions, we regularly assess them. To this end, we compile a CO₂ emissions inventory every six months. Based on this data, we monitor our performance, evaluate our progress, and make adjustments as needed.
Supply Chain Analyses
In addition to our own emissions, we also examine emissions within our supply chain. To this end, we conduct supply chain analyses, including:
’s CO₂ Reduction Targets Our reduction targets are set out in the Energy Action Plan 2025–2027. In doing so, we focus on the emissions that have the greatest impact within our organization.
For the period 2025–2027, we aim to:
TransparencyWe believe it is important to communicate openly about our progress. That is why we regularly update employees, clients, and other stakeholders on our CO₂ performance, reduction measures, and results.
Development, Participation, and Collaboration
To achieve our energy reduction goals, we are constantly looking for opportunities to improve. Setting up our own development projects aimed at reducing energy consumption contributes to achieving our goals. Two examples of our own developments are Piping Control and the UXOscope.
We don’t achieve our sustainability goals on our own. That’s why we actively participate in initiatives and partnerships that help reduce energy consumption and CO₂ emissions within the industry. By sharing knowledge and collaborating with partners, we’re working toward a more sustainable living environment.
