A 200 meter long deep sea quay wall. This quay wall is used by Sif Group.  <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sif is a builder of monopiles, pipes that have dimensions of up to 120 meters long and with a diameter of up to 11 meters. These monopiles are used to build offshore wind farms. Gigantic offshore installation vessels load the monopiles; once at sea, the monopiles are driven into the ground as foundations for wind turbines.  <\/p>\n<p><strong class=\"\">Suitable for heavier work<br \/>\n<\/strong>To make this possible, a new quay has been constructed that is sturdy enough not to collapse under the load of the huge piles on the quay and the offshore &#8220;jack-up&#8221; ships in front of it. These are ships that push themselves up and in this way stand stable enough to load the piles of the wind turbines. Van Hattum en Blankevoort realized the construction of the quay. The new quay is 200 meters long with a retaining height of about 30 meters. We first removed the existing slope, then excavated the construction pit and installed drainage cases so we could work on the quay construction in the dry.  <\/p>\n<p>The versatility of the work required the use of multiple pieces of equipment. Among other things, approximately 175,000 m3 of dry earthmoving was carried out by our hydraulic cranes. Most of the wet earthmoving (approx. 210,000 m3) was carried out by our trailing suction hopper dredger the T.S.H.D. Charlock.
