MAINTENANCE AND ASSET MANAGEMENT<\/h1>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Asset management in the infrastructure sector is the smart management of all assets of value to the (wet) infrastructure. Think of engineering structures such as bridges, locks and pumping stations. But also less visible assets: the soil and bank protection of waterways and rivers. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Asset management involves the planning, realization, maintenance and disposal of all assets. In a way that improves performance, reduces costs and minimizes risks. The goal is to keep our infrastructure navigable and safe. The Netherlands is currently facing the largest maintenance task ever. Much of our (wet) infrastructure is at the end of its useful life and in need of renovation or replacement. <\/p>\n

Rivers at depth<\/strong>
\nOn a large scale, we support governments, such as the Department of Public Works and Water Boards, provinces and municipalities, in managing their assets. For example, we currently maintain 250 kilometers of rivers, 87 kilometers of canals and 2,486 groynes on the IJssel, Lower Rhine, Lek and Twente canals. We ensure that the rivers and canals remain at depth and navigable. And we keep the banks and groynes in top condition. <\/p>\n

Data-driven maintenance
\n<\/strong>In addition to rivers, canals and banks, we also maintain wet engineering structures. In the Vitaal project, we are maintaining some 12 navigation locks, 3 weir complexes, 72 bridges, 6 pumping stations and 50 outlet works in combination with SPIE, BAM and Dynniq in the period from 2022 to 2028. In this project, we are investing in smart ways of working in asset management and data-driven maintenance. By doing data analysis, we prevent failures and damage. In this way we limit disruption to (shipping) traffic. <\/p>\n

Large lock complexes<\/strong>
\nIn the central Netherlands, we perform similar maintenance on the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal. On a stretch of about 80 kilometers, we maintain the large lock complexes. In a job like this, we also include green maintenance of the banks and maintenance of paving along the canal. We also carry out asset management on a smaller scale. On Lock 1 in the Blauwe As in Assen, we will be responsible for management and maintenance for twenty years after completion in 2013. Especially for this project we are certified in accordance with ISO55001: we demonstrably carry out asset management according to strict quality requirements and regulations. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n

In the Vital project, together with our combiners, we will maintain approximately 12 lock gates, 3 weir complexes, 72 bridges, 6 pumping stations and 50 outlet works in the period from 2022 to 2028.
