That is why, since 2016, we have been certified at Level 5 of the CO\u2082 Performance Ladder, the highest level within this sustainability framework. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Using the CO\u2082 Performance Ladder, we provide transparency into our emissions, set concrete reduction targets, and continuously work to make our operations, projects, and supply chain partnerships more sustainable. In doing so, our focus is on the efficient use of equipment, reducing fuel consumption, saving energy, and the sustainable use of raw materials. <\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"aw-subkop\">What is the CO\u2082 Performance Ladder?<\/h3>\n<p>The CO\u2082 Performance Ladder is a sustainability tool that encourages organizations to systematically reduce their CO\u2082 emissions. It helps companies gain insight into their emissions and provides guidance on how to reduce emissions both within their own organization and throughout the supply chain. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Understanding Our Emissions<br \/>\n<\/strong>To reduce <strong>our<\/strong>CO\u2082 emissions, we regularly assess them. To this end, we compile a CO\u2082 emissions inventory every six months. To this end, we conduct supply chain analyses, including: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Materials used for dike revetments<\/li>\n<li>More sustainable types of sheet piling<\/li>\n<li>Maintenance Projects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u2019s <strong>CO\u2082 Reduction Targets<\/strong> Our reduction targets are set out in the Energy Action Plan 2025\u20132027. In doing so, we focus on the emissions that have the greatest impact within our organization. <\/p>\n<p>For the period 2025\u20132027, we aim to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>13% reduction in Scope 1 emissions per year<\/li>\n<li>A 1.5% reduction in Scope 3 emissions per year<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><br \/>\n Transparency<\/strong>We believe it is important to communicate openly about our progress. That is why we regularly update employees, clients, and other stakeholders on our CO\u2082 performance, reduction measures, and results. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Development, Participation, and Collaboration<br \/>\n<\/strong>To achieve our energy reduction goals, we are constantly looking for opportunities to improve. Setting up our own development projects aimed at reducing energy consumption contributes to achieving our goals. Two examples of our own developments are <a href=\"https:\/\/pipingcontrol.nl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Piping Control<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/herik.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/A01123-UXOscope-A5-flyer-NL-V3-digitaal.pdf\">UXOscope<\/a>.  <\/p>\n<p>We don\u2019t achieve our sustainability goals on our own. That\u2019s why we actively participate in initiatives and partnerships that help reduce energy consumption and CO\u2082 emissions within the industry. By sharing knowledge and collaborating with partners, we\u2019re working toward a more sustainable living environment.  <strong><br
