WATER BOARD AA AND MAAS SELECTS DYKE COMBINATION FOR REALIZATION DYKE IMPROVEMENT CUIJK-RAVENSTEIN<\/h1>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Waterboard Aa and Maas has awarded the construction team agreement of dike improvement Cuijk-Ravenstein to the combination Dijkgenoten, consisting of BAM Infra Nederland, Van den Herik-Sliedrecht and FL BV. The water board and Dijkgenoten will join forces in the coming years to work on the more than 21-kilometer-long Maasdijk between Cuijk and Ravenstein. Together, the parties are committed to creating a safe and future-proof Maasdijk that fits in well with the landscape and surroundings. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The project involves improving approximately 21 kilometers of primary flood defenses on the Brabant side of the Meuse River, as part of the High Water Protection Program (HWBP). The work includes improving the dike, and strengthening and renovating monumental objects such as the quay wall in Grave. <\/p>\n

Within the project, cooperation, safety and sustainability are key. For example, as many materials as possible will be reused from the project and the dike improvement will be largely emission-free. <\/p>\n

From permit design to final design<\/strong>
\nCurrently, the project is still in the plan execution phase. Recently, Water Board Aa and Maas and architectural and engineering firm Sweco Nederland BV completed the design required for the permits. Together with combination Dijkgenoten, the water board and Sweco are now further developing this permit design into a final design. <\/p>\n

Dijkgenoten will contribute implementation expertise: they will help think about the best and safest way to carry out the work. As soon as the final design is ready, preparations for the implementation of the dike improvement will start. Work is expected to start in the first quarter of 2027 and the dike will be completed in 2030. <\/p>\n

Festive launch<\/strong>
\nTo seal the cooperation, the three parties signed a cooperation manifesto on Monday, Oct. 20. This manifesto sets out the joint ambition and working method for the dike improvement project.
